Experience of Billy Mitchell

Billy Mitchell performs both stand-up and improvisational comedy. He performs with the Vancouver Theatresports League and was nominated as best action for his role as John Barrymore in the production of I Hate Hamlet at the Vertigo Theatre. Billy has also written television sketch comedy for Funny Pages and produced comedy segments for CICaF Radio.

He is the only Canadian comedian to perform in Cambodia to entertain UN Peacekeepers. He’s also performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and many comedy clubs across Canada. He was the awards emcee in Hiccups on CTV and the Comedy Network as was the announcer and performer on the Brent Butt Comedy Special, also o CTV.

Billy has been an entertainer on cruise ships and at the Richmond Ozone, the celebration site for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. He is a regular columnist for BC Homes Magazine. He is well-read, highly versatile and can handle tough crowds and unusual situations. He is a clean comedian but can toss in a little off-color humour when it’s appropriate. He also adapts his material to fit the venue and situation.

Performance Style of Billy Mitchell

He’s customized performances for all types of groups from doctors to software publishers. He’s performed before the American Trade Consulate and the US Air Force. He writes sketches, game shows and corporate bafflegab presentations using PowerPoint. He does stand-up comedy, improv, and has characters that can deliver bogus presentations for corporate clients. This works well at an after-dinner keynote or tucked among real presenters at a conference to break up the event.

Why hire Billy Mitchell?

Billy has custom-written material for gastroenterologists, oenophiles and software publishers, amused the American Trade Consulate, and upset the US Air Force. Billy Mitchell also creates custom-written sketches, game-shows and corporate bafflegab presentations with PowerPoint accompaniment. He calls this “Corporate Fraud”. In addition to stand-up, acting and improvisation, Billy has developed a number of characters that deliver bogus presentations for corporate clients. Tucked amid the actual presentations at a conference or placed as a keynote speaker after dinner, these ersatz experts insinuate themselves as the real thing, complete with PowerPoint slide shows that seem real…at first.

Seamlessly blending fact and fiction, the illusion is complete – for a while – but the presentation gradually reveals its true nature as zany ideas creep in:

Billy takes the time to develop custom-written presentations tailored to your group. He will incorporate the jargon and style that make him believable, and the pay-off is hearty belly-laughs.

Works Well in this Type of Event: Private Events, Corporate Events, Cruise Lines, Comedy Festivals, Sports Events, Casino Events, Charity Events, Celebrity Speaking Events, Conventions, Emcee, and Trade Shows.
