Dennis Hull is a popular speaker and comedian that includes a clean style that includes stories from his sports background, often ending with hilarity about hockey experiences.

Dennis participated in the 1972 Summit Series against the former Soviet Union, leading to a friendship with Soviet goal tending legend Vladislav Tretiak, whom he faced in the series.

He had a good hockey career, amassing 303 goals, 351 assists in the regular season and scored 33 goals and the same number of assists in 95 playoff games. Most of those were with the Chicago Blackhawks. He became a broadcaster and an educator after retiring from hockey. He studied at Brock University and graduated with a degree in history and physical education. Dennis went on to teach at Ridley College before becoming the athletic director of Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

He also continues to operate a cattle farm raising Polled Hereford with his brother Gary in Northumberland County, Ontario. He is also an author of The Third Best Hull, which contains stories from his hockey career.
