Experience of Jonny Harris
Jonny Harris, a stand-up comedian with Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, and Labrador roots, has performed across a variety of mediums in Canada. He’s appeared at the Halifax, Winnipeg, and St. John’s Comedy Festival and on CBC Radio’s Madly Off in All Directions and The Debaters. He was also a guest writer for This Hour has 22 Minutes.
His show Out of the Bog played at the Nakai Comedy Arts Festival, Victoria’s UNO Festival, and the Magnetic North Theatre Festival. He has a stand-up special for Comedy Now! on the Comedy Network website.
Jonny helped found the St. John’s sketch comedy troupe The Dance Party of Newfoundland and Labrador, which won the 2007 Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival’s Best of the Fest award. He’s also written and starred in Mary Walsh’s Hatching, Matching, and Dispatching. He also was in the film Grown Up Movie Star, which was at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
He currently plays Constable George Crabtree on CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries and garnered two Gemini nominations for Best Supporting Lead in a Dramatic Series for the role. He also starts in Still Standing.
