Experience of Sterling Scott
Sterling Scott likes to say comedy found him. He went out with friends to an open mic comedy night after being disappointed by a MuchMusic VJ search rejection. The friends talked him into going on stage and there was laughter, so he was hooked.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Sterling now lives in Edmonton, Alberta. He was raised in a large single parent family with his mother born in Trinidad and Tobago and now raising her kids in Canada. He said that mix shows, and comedy was a way of life for him.
He’s traveled across the U.S., Canada and overseas with his act, playing at notable venues like the Apollo Theatre, Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, and the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. He was also a writer and actor on the television show This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
Why hire?
Sterling’s comedy is relatable as he talks about relationships, family, and current events. He was a finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2013 and won the Edmonton International Comedy Festival “young guns” competition in 2013. He was also a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition in 2014.
